Pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella) attack may be monitored at very initial stage with the help of Trap capsules. Male moths are attracted towards the smell of female encapsulated inside the traps. 3-5 traps are maintained per acre for better results. Inside the traps, 3-4 moths per night indicate that proper spray should be managed. Traps are more useful when applied in a block of 25-50 acres of cotton. No need at early stage but these should be fixed 2 months after sowing of crop. We have highlighted the need of Traps in connection with control strategies in addition to the cultural operations. #cotton #pinkbollworm #cropreformer
