WARNING! I goofed and the audio gets loud in Game 9! Of course, as you can see in the video, we struggle against straight up aggro decks like Prowess, Angels, and especially Elves... though these games are winnable, you have to hit their key pieces at the right time and not stumble on your way to the big finish at 6 mana. Our top end of Sublime Epiphany, Magma Opus, and Torrential Gearhulk goes way beyond what most decks are doing, so if we get there, we basically win. Mana Base and card choices: My mana base is crap, don’t copy it. I simply didn’t have the wildcards to get a proper one together. I would definitely ditch the Snarls, Campuses and Temples for more Pathways and shocks. If you’re making your own manabase for this list, basically, you need to hit UG on turn 2 for Growth Spiral, RUG on turn 3 for Prismari and Quandrix Command, then UUGG on turn 4 for Howlpack Ambusher and Rewind. My list runs some odd counterspells at 2 mana simply because those are the ones I happened to have. However I do like them both, especially Reject, because in BO1 you really, really need to counter the aggro creature on turn 2/3 so that you can survive to the later turns. Quench would probably be fine here as a catch-all, and a lot of people are excited about Memory Lapse... I’m not certain Lapse is what you want simply because it doesn’t REMOVE the threats. The exile clause on Reject can definitely be relevant, so don’t knock it before you try it! In general though, I feel that most of the card choices are flexible other than the core of the deck, which of course is Magma Opus, Torrential Gearhulk, Sublime Epiphany, Howlpack Ambusher, and Brazen Borrower. I also feel that the Commands and Growth Spiral are pretty important as you want to be casting Gearhulk ASAP. Making Treasure and drawing cards with Prismari Command is often correct! Now the usual description: Today on Arena we’re climbing from Diamond 1 to Mythic with Temur Flash in Historic Best of One - no commentary, just some relaxing background music. This is one of the most fun decks I’ve ever played in constructed, so I hope you enjoy it too. Let’s play Magic: the Gathering! Intro/outro music: Michael Ramir C. - Dust Up Background music: Divide By Nine - Signs
