Republic Services Recycling Facility Tour

Join us for a virtual tour through a Material Recovery Facility that sorts about 80% of the St. Louis region’s mixed recycling. Brent Batliner, General Manager of the Republic Services facility in Hazelwood, MO will walk through his plant and discuss why it is so important to “Stick with the Six” types of recyclable items: Clean Paper, cardboard, plastic containers, metal containers, food cartons and glass bottles. Bags and other loose plastics wrap on the gears creating mechanical downtime and hazards for employees to cut them off the conveyor lines.
