PLEASE. READ. THIS. 🙏 Today we donated Food Packages to 125 of the poorest villages across the Mekong from Luang Prabang. When we got to the meeting point, there were too many families without food to help. 😞 We had to turn people away, people without food, money or medicine. Imagine having to turn a struggling single mother away with three babies and no food to feed them. Many of these people try to forage some plants from the depleted forest to try and sell at the local market. A sweet elderly lady approached us and showed us her arms. They were red and sore from an allergic reaction to the forest, she’s been in pain each day for a year because the only way she can eat is to forage from the forest... at 80+ years old and with little strength. She asked us for medicine but after speaking to the chief of the village, we realised we could help her by providing for her so she doesn’t have to hurt herself in the forest for what is essentially some leaves to eat. We took her back to her village because she walked 2km to get to our food donation today. She sleeps on a tile floor, she doesn’t have a fire to cook with or any cooking utensils. She has half a blanket, no food reserves, no money and no family to look after her. Her body is in pain and she’s malnourished. I MADE A PROMISE TO HER THAT WE WILL PROVIDE HER WITH: - A Mattress - Bedding / Blankets - A Cooking Fire - Rice / Food Reserves (One month at a time, for as long as we can but I haven’t told her that yet) - Soap and General Toiletries PayPal true-travel@hotmail.com We have some money left over from donations atm but we have literally hundreds more families to provide care packages too and I’m not sure how many we can provide for. I have promised this beautiful soul that I will help her, this will be done whether you donate or not. However, the more money you guys donate, the more we can help her long term. I have an army of trustworthy caring people that will be in the area for a long time so I have the means to arrange a long term sponsorship for this lady so she can live more comfortably in her older days.
