Nangeli was untold and unwritten real Dalit (Lower Caste) women who fought against mulakkaram (breast tax). In 18th century in Kingdom of Travancore there was imposed breast tax against Dalit Women. There was decree not to wear anything upper part of body by lower caste. Imposing this breast tax had been worsening the situation of lower caste. There was a Dalit women named Nangeli who refused to pay breast tax and started to wear upper body clothes. King's Tax collector tried to collect tax with Nangeli. But instead of tax She Cut her both breast and gave them. It made revolt against Breast Tax aka mulakkaram.
