Power of Arts for Wellness — DRAW by Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH)

Published 28 Jan 2020

Sabrina, 31, goes to SAMH MINDSET Learning Hub for vocational services which include job training and placement. At the same time, she also learns art skills and cultivates healthy coping skills through engagement in the arts at SAMH Creative SAY! Sabrina was bullied during her secondary school days. It was traumatic for her. These memories of being bullied have lasting negative effects on Sabrina to this day. Drawing gives Sabrina something meaningful to work on, distracting her and helping her regulate her emotions. Drawing also helps Sabrina to be clear on what's important -- that maybe her happiness is her own to draw. For more information on SAMH, please visit https://www.samhealth.org.sg/ .
