CREATING MY OWN SOIL MIX + REPOTTING RHAPHIDOPHRA TETRASPHERMA | SPRING 2021

Second part of my Repot With Me Series and accompanying video to my Tips for Repotting Plants in Spring 2021 video (coming Thursday). In this video, I share my own soil mix that I will be using for my houseplants this growing season . As mentioned in previous videos, there's no right or wrong way to do this, you can stick with the most basic type: indoor potting mix plus perlite, or you can experiment and try out a soil mix that is more to your liking than what's commercially avialable that's already premade. The general rule to follow is a 50 percent should be materials that retain moisture (peat moss, coco coir, sphagnum moss) and 50 percent that provide aeration and drainage (orchid bark, pine bark, perlite, vermiculite, pumice, lava rocks, etc.), and adjust the ratio depending on the houseplant.
