He had to accept a lot of insults in his childhood because of his behavior and mannerisms. Many times he has heard that he is 'Meyeli'. He was bullied in school by his classmates. They used to push him off the desk, pinching him, making harsh comments etc. Negative comments from people pushed him towards depression. But his life took a special turn when he got to college. He became the topper for 3 consecutive years. The teachers there also encouraged him in various ways. After that Sarbjit started writing poetry. His published books leave a response among readers. His book "Speaking from the bottom of my life" received 13 awards. His second book, "The Sluggish Fire", is a series of poems about getting into clinical depression and how he came out of it. The most significant aspect of Sarbajit's life is that he is an Assistant Professor in Burdwan University, the college from which he passed his graduation ! His name was also recently published in Times of India. Listen to Sarbajit's story right away ! আজ জোশ টকসের মঞ্চে সর্বজিৎ চৌধুরী শোনালেন তাঁর জীবনের গল্প। হাঁটাচলা, ভাবভঙ্গীর জন্য ছোট বেলায় অনেক অবমাননার স্বীকার তাঁকে হতে হয়েছে। অনেক সময়ে শুনতে হয়েছে তিনি 'মেয়েলি'। ডেস্ক থেকে ঠেলে ফেলে দেওয়া, চিমটি কাটা, কটু মন্তব্য করা ইত্যাদি নানা উপায়ে তাঁকে স্কুলে হেনস্তা করা হয়। লোকজনের কটু মন্তব্য তাঁকে ডিপ্রেশনের দিকে ঠেলে দেয়। কিন্তু কলেজে উঠে তাঁর জীবনে আসে বিশেষ মোড়। পরপর ৩ বছর তিনি টপার হন। সেখানে টিচাররাও তাঁকে নানাভাবে উৎসাহিত করেন। এরপর সর্বজিৎ শুরু করেন কবিতা লেখা। তাঁর প্রকাশিত বই সাড়া ফেলে দেয় পাঠক মহলে। তাঁর লেখা বই "Speaking from the bottom of my life" পায় ১৩টি অ্যাওয়ার্ড। তাঁর দ্বিতীয় বইয়ের নাম "The Sluggish Fire", ক্লিনিকাল ডিপ্রেশনের স্বীকার হওয়া এবং সেখান থেকে বেরিয়ে আসা সবটা নিয়ে তাঁর সিরিজ অফ পোয়েম প্রকাশিত হয় এই বইয়ে। সর্বজিৎ-এর জীবনের সবথেকে উল্লেখযোগ্য দিক হল, যে কলেজ থেকে সে পাশ করেছে সেই বর্ধমান ইউনিভার্সিটি-তেই আজ সে Assistant Professor !
